Mayor Naheed Nenshi doesn’t see a need to touch the City’s Animal Bylaw, even with an increase in dog attacks and bites across Calgary in recent weeks.
“It’s been proven over and over again that breed specific bans don’t work,” he said.
Somebody needs to reach out to this mayor and advise him that BSL has proven immensely effective in reducing and eliminating attacks, maulings, and killings by Pit Bulls in every single locality where enacted and his city, like so many others, seems to have a serious Pit Bull problem.
It looks very foolish for a man in his position to be spouting this blatant misinformation spread by Pit propagandists instead of actually reading any follow up studies or talking with local agencies about the success of BSL in those areas.
